INTRODUCTION

Labuan Fintech Association (LFTA) was created in 2019 to drive the fintech and digital ecosystem in Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC). Working closely with other associations in Labuan IBFC specifically and Malaysia, Asia and beyond, LFTA aims to grow the digital industry in Labuan IBFC,

Labuan IBFC has a fast growing digital ecosystem that includes digital banks and insurtechs as well as digital intermediaries and platforms such as robo-advisors, digital asset exchanges and e-payment systems.

In addition, having a comprehensive, omnibus Islamic legislation and its own Shariah Supervisory Council, also sets Labuan IBFC as a befitting hub for Shariah-compliant digital financial players.

We work with regulators, multilateral organisations, as well as other associations in Labuan IBFC and regionally to ensure Labuan IBFC’s true proposition as a digital financial centre is understood and appreciated.

We identify and pursue symbiotic partnership opportunities in order to collaborate with entities and individuals who share similar goals or complementary business models, towards our core aim of furthering the digital agenda.

LFTA membership is open and complimentary for:

Member – Entities approved by Labuan FSA as Digital Financial Services players

Ecosystem Partner – Entities that are either part of or have strong interests in the digital and/or conventional financial services ecosystem (not currently licensed by Labuan FSA or not required to be licensed by Labuan FSA, such as lawyers, corporate advisors etc.)
